Hello, many of you may already know about The Avengers (or ‘The Avengers Assemble’, as they have renamed it for the UK audience thanks to Johanna Lumley). I’d been meaning to watch it a long time ago but my cousin hadn’t been free. After finally getting round to watching it today, I am thoroughly pleased with how it turned out. I won’t give any spoilers out but you should just know that it was epic.
For those of you who do not know about the Avengers, you really need to find out. You shame yourself. The Avengers is comprised of Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, The Black Widow and Hawkeye.
To me, there was a resemblance to Transformers, what with the whole ‘End of the World’ scenario and giant machines. But it was a lot funnier, and just generally cooler. I am a Transformers fan though. Oh, and the female character in this one, The Black Widow- she was NOT just there to be pretty. I congratulate Scarlett Johansson.
My favourite Avenger in this one was probably either Hulk or Iron Man. Now that’s saying a lot because I did not particularly like the HULK movies, but Mark Ruffalo really brought out something special here.
There is a lot of banter between the heroes here, and quite a few fights between them. I would not suggest leaving this viewing for a bathroom break so do what I did and go before the viewing. And PRE-BOOK seats!!! ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE SEEING IT IN THE WEEKEND. And STAY until the VERY end after ALL of the credits. Can’t wait until the sequel.
